okay let’s talk terms AKA start an argument in a recent video I mentioned that a certain tool was more commonly used by a carpenter than a woodworker and at first glance they are kind of the same thing but it’s fun how names change over time location and different occupations a carpenter is often the big umbrella for everyone who works with wood but in our modern world a carpenter is someone who builds a house you can have the fine Carpenter and the rough Carpenter whereas a woodworker is someone who works in their shop to build things that goes in the house you wouldn’t generally call a rough Carpenter a woodworker but you might call a fine Carpenter a woodworker but you would call a Turner a chair maker a cabinet maker a woodworker but all three of those would hate to be called a carpenter so how do you identify
