okay hi guys welcome back so you can’t see all of me in this video i apologize for that i just couldn’t fit all of me in the screen with these things and these things are the important thing i want to show you so i’ve got a new updated puzzle toy video for you guys i came out with um another one about a year ago and i wanted to share with you guys some of the newer puzzle toys i’ve gotten since that video was made so all of this stuff is new from that other video if you haven’t seen that one i’d recommend going to check it out but i’m going to take you guys through all this stuff and kind of explain how i like it and what it does and all the new stuff so you guys i’ll put links to all of these things down in the description below that you can go check all of these things out um i like each and every one of them i’ve tried them out several times and i’m a huge fan so hope this is helpful for you guys and kind of an update some of the things you see in my last video you can’t actually get anymore so i wanted to put something new out there let’s just start over here um i’m going to show you guys video in the bottom corner of wrigley working on each of these things so you can kind of see how a dog would work on these things instead of me just sitting here explaining it so um this one is cool this one i would not recommend for any dog that is just trying out a puzzle toy for the first time this one is hard um this one took wrigley a long time to figure out so basically it’s got uh these kind of containers set on this pole across this you know thing and you can unscrew the tops of these and actually put the food inside of the canisters and the top kind of just has this uh design on top of it these three holes on the top of it but it also does come with three easier ones that if your dog tips it over they’re gonna be able to get the kibble out a little bit easier so um if your dog is just learning this i’d start with the ones that it comes with that are not the three holes it’ll make it a little easier for them but basically with this one the dog just has to tip this over in order for food to come out so how they go about doing that it could be with their nose with their paw wrigley has tried both she hasn’t like i said quite figured it out totally and what her method is quite yet she’s still getting the hang of it but this is a hard level puzzle toy so i would not start with this one if your dog is new to puzzle toys but it’s a fantastic advanced level one now if your dog is new to puzzle toys this would be one that i would start with this one is very similar in concept to the wobble kong that i talked about in my previous video you load the food up on the top right here and then it kind of just trickles down the sides it’s got holes in the openings here that you can see through and it spills out of these this is probably hard to see because it’s white these holes on the bottom the food spills out there so it’s i think of it like a fountain um it’s just kind of how my brain works with it but it’s actually a very easy one wrigley goes through this one in probably like 30 seconds to a minute something like that but i thought it was interesting and a little bit different from the kong wobbler if your dog is looking for something more easy level let’s talk about another this is probably more intermediate level this one it’s always the ones that you look at in the store and you have to figure out how do i put the food in there that are more of the intermediate to hard level ones so this one’s got a rope on the top it’s got this little grippy thing that your dog can actually bite and hold um on the top here there’s an opening where the rope goes in and i don’t know if you guys can actually see this but there is the rope that goes inside of this as well now the bottom actually screws off so you can load the food it’s a lot of screws so you can actually load the food in there and basically what your dog has to do with this one is when the rope is pulled tight the food can’t trickle out but when the rope is loose the food comes out more freely so this one’s a little bit more intermediate level your dog kind of has to figure out if they just pick it up by the rope that’s not going to work very well for them they kind of have to figure out okay if i bite it here um wrigley actually let me see if i can get this screwed on this one the threading on mine i kind of broke it a little while back so it’s a little tricky um but wrigley will actually like grab onto the entire base of this and tip it over that way and kind of roll it around that way so that’s how she goes about doing this one um but this one’s a really interesting one more intermediate hard level like i was talking about but a really good one if you’re looking for an upgrade from an easy puzzle toy for your dog switching back to easy this one is just this barnacle toy you just load food into each end of this they’ve got different sized ends and your dog can roll it around they can throw it around if they’re like wriggly and it’s a pretty easy level one to get the food out of here so that’s just a good little trot i like this one for traveling actually i take this one with me because it’s small it is really about the size of my hand so it’s not these big things that you have to carry along with you i just throw this in my bag and go same thing with this one this one is fun i don’t really use um much well i use a little bit of kibble with this one but what i like about this one is in the sides here there’s these openings that you can actually stick your dog’s kibble or treats down into these slits in this ball and they have to kind of work on how to get those out of there kind of like the uh the ball that i had in that original video this is just kind of a different a different make of one and then in the center you could even stick like a dental chew or a bully stick down through this and let your dog give that to your dog and let them work on it it actually lasts a decent amount of time if your dog is willing to invest in it i would not recommend starting your dog out with something like this because it does take an investment of their energy and time to work on the getting the food out of here you want to start off with something like i said like the barnacle that’s easier for them to get the food out so they don’t get so frustrated that they give up entirely on it so i call this more intermediate level just because of the time investment in actually wanting to spend time on getting the food out of here a newer dog is going to have a more challenging time with that if they’re not used to puzzle toys but i really really like this one that one is a recommendation from a friend of mine that is our newest puzzle toy and i really really like it so highly recommend that one um right next to it we’ve got this other kind of wobble um i think this is a planet dog brand toy but it’s basically all rubber which is nice because it makes it easy to clean but it also gets a lot of hair stuck onto it so i just make it a habit to kind of clean it each week but it’s got a hole in the middle you drop food in here and what it kind of does is your dog rolls it around but the food underneath this let me see if i can even like yeah there we go so you can even lift that up drop food in there so then when you push this back in okay the food is not easily going to spill out of the hole right as if it were up like this it’s going to kind of get stuck down in between so it actually lasts a little bit longer than say like the barnacle toy because your dog actually has to roll around quite a bit for all of the food to come out so i’m a huge fan of this one this one is really great it’s such a simple design but it lasts your dog quite a while for them to be able to get all the food out of it and it’s rubber which is great i tried to pick a rubber type toys i got a lot of comments before on people being worried about their furniture i could care less about my furniture with my dog but i know that that’s a concern with nice furniture and whatnot so i tried to pick out some rubber toys that i personally really like that will not damage your furniture so this is a really good example of one of those this one is an outward hound one and it’s kind of just like a frisbee type shape it’s got a hole in the top that you load the food into on both sides so what i recommend is when you load one side you plug it up with your hand flip it to the other side so all of the food doesn’t fall out you know physics and whatnot um so you load the food in there and then it’s got these holes on the exterior side so your dog literally just like spins it along the ground um or if your dog is like wrinkly she’ll literally literally like flip it over like a pancake on the ground to get the food out of it but i really like this one with the rubber theme all the purple edges here are actually rubberized they’re not plastic that’s something you guys won’t be able to tell from just looking at it in the video but it’s not plastic so if it bangs into any of your furniture it’s not going to damage it at all and the pieces that are actually touching the ground on a flat surface those are also rubber so all the purple parts that you see are rubber this green yellow color is plastic this one is a kong toy so it’s kind of this like gyroscope thing it’s got this ball in the middle you actually twist the center piece off to load the food in and it’s got a hole in the top of it so you load the food in there screw it back in let’s see if i can sometimes it’s a little tricky getting the angle right so i can actually screw it back in there we go so the bowl just or bowl the ball just freely moves around in the center here and uh kind of rolls along the floor like that so your dog can kind of roll it around work on the food getting out of it that kind of stuff this one doesn’t work as well on carpet that seems to make common sense but in case you’re wondering it does not work well on carpet it does still work but it’s much slower and more tedious so i recommend if you have more hardwood floors or tile or something like that this is a good one for that one definitely more easy level your dog won’t have a too difficult of a time with that one but if they’re just starting out they’re gonna have a really good time with that so that’s that one this one not furniture friendly okay this one is all plastic and it is very loud this is like a like a q buster toy i think is what it’s called or something similar to that but i really like this one design of it is really cool so it’s just this cube you load the food in the top of it and then inside of it it actually has these like tears of uh like cascading walls essentially so if i just like hold this upside down there’s food in here but it’s not gonna easily come out so you saw a piece of food drop right there but it’s not gonna easily all dump out so your dog really has to like roll it around and try to like really knock the kibble around in there into the right position for it to fall out so i call this a more intermediate level toy borderline easy it’s not hard i would say your dog has to work a little bit longer kind of like this one but a little bit harder than this one the cube is a little harder than that one to knock all the food out so this is a good one this one is a great one for working on carpet if your dog here let me try to kind of show you guys if your dog is like wriggly and they try to like knock it over the carpet actually gives them some traction on it versus on the hardwood floor hopefully you guys can see this on the hardwood floor i can knock it over pretty easily but it slides it slides a whole lot more so that’s something to keep in mind wrigley tends to get more frustrated with this one if she rolls it off of the carpet i try to encourage her to bring it back to the carpet every time so she’s kind of learning that this one works best if it’s on the carpet but keep that in mind if you have a more easy level dog when it comes to puzzle toys this might frustrate them if they’re working on it on a hard surface instead of carpet another outward hound puzzle brick toy here i really like this one this one i would say is a more intermediate to hard level toy i haven’t i haven’t really actually had wrigley experiment with the fullness of this toy so how this one works so you guys see these rings on the edges these actually push in and pull out and what those do is it locks these pieces into place so when it’s pushed in this green piece can’t move when it’s pulled out it can move freely so that’s kind of how this one works so when you’re starting out with this one what i would recommend is pulling excuse me pulling all of these white pieces out for your dog so they can just get the hang of okay i have to slide these pieces to actually access the food from underneath and not um lifting them up as in some of the other puzzle toys that i are puzzle brick toys that i’ve talked about so let them get the hang of that first and then i start experimenting with locking them your dog has to learn how to unlock this so they could use their paw they could use their teeth with these types of puzzle toys i try to make a really good point to actually teach my dog how to use it otherwise they’ll get too frustrated and totally give up on it i’m in the process of teaching wrigley how to actually use this with all of the things pushed in right now so definitely more hard level toy with the uh outside rings pushed in more like hard to uh extreme maybe difficult level if your dog is brand new to this type of level of toy you guys have seen me talk about putter puzzle uh snuffle snuffle mats in my previous video this one was made for me by a really good friend of mine indie you can make these you can buy them i i have let’s see three of these now but if you didn’t watch my other video basically the idea of this is it’s a bunch of felt really like tied on to this lattice uh kind of aperture thing on the bottom you can buy these you can make them like i said it just takes a little bit of time and what you do is just sprinkle your dog’s food on top of this and they have to really like literally snuffle their nose around in the mat to access the food so it’s a really great enrichment activity anytime you’re well i mean all of these are but i really really like the snuffle mat so let’s talk about these for a second so these are versions of the licky mat that i talked about last time they’re just kind of newer version so let’s talk about this purple one for a second so it’s got a little design in the middle just like before so you spread some peanut butter some pumpkin yogurt whatever you choose to spread on here i like to pop these in the freezer to make them last even longer so same ideas before it’s flat but this one has suction cups on the back of it so you could i don’t know if this will suction to my floor but you could throw it on the ground no it won’t suction to my wood floor but you could throw it on the ground if you have something like tile in your house and let your dog work on it so they can’t pick it up and bring it all over the place which is what i really like about it great thing to use for crate training you could stick it to the side of the crate let your dog work on it and they can’t take it out of the crate they have to actually go in the crate to be able to work on it great for bath time as well when you’re giving your dog a bath throw this on the side of the tub spread a whole bunch of peanut butter on it and you can give your dog a bath while they are working on some yummy peanut butter getting really positive associations with what with that this one is the same idea it’s got some little textured uh pattern in the middle of it but it’s actually a sphere same idea you spread your peanut butter yogurt whatever you’re gonna put in here i again would freeze this and this one your dog actually kind of like wobbles around while they’re licking in here and working on it so it takes them twice as long to actually work on this which is a design that i think is really really cool i think this is the licky matte wobble i think is what this is um so these two things are my newest like licky matte purchases i’ve got this uh like coke can toy that you actually has a hole in the top you can stuff it just like a regular kong i just thought it was something different and kind of fun that i have a bunch of kongs but i don’t have any different shapes so i wanted to get a couple new ones so there’s this coke can this one’s a really good durable rubber for strong chewers kind of like the the black kong is made for really strong chewers this one is really the same kind of strength and durability so i really like that one and then this one this one is just a little bit different this is a west paw toy it has a hole in the middle right here you load that up with food whatever you’re going to stuff your clothes with and then what you can actually do is wrap these pieces together and they stay like that and then go ahead and freeze this so your dog has to figure out how to undo these pieces which is actually quite um not it’s not difficult but they are very uh not very flexible so that’s something that you’ll your dog will have to kind of figure out and then they can get access to the stuff that’s in here again i’m freezing both of those these things with the rest of the comms that i prep for the week including uh both of these licking mats as well so those are my new kind of stuffables that i tend to prep weekly and last we have this puzzle toy which yes it is a puzzle toy but it does not have to do with food if your dog likes toys i highly recommend interactive toys like this so this one is just this little cute little like tree house thing and it’s got three squirrels stuffed in the middle and it’s got a couple holes throughout so what i’ll typically do with this one is kind of have one with its tail sticking out so wrigley can kind of grab that one with its head sticking out and then one at the top maybe with its head sticking out so it’s kind of just this fun toy um i’ll put a i’ll try to put a little video in here of with wrigley working on it but if your dog is interested in toys these squeak as well so that makes it extra fun for your dog to kind of work on my eyes down yeah squirrel this is one of her favorite toys now so they come in a bunch of different patterns you can actually get a bigger size of this as well so this is something that is a new favorite and i’m probably going to get more of but wrigley really likes that one so you guys that is all of the all of the new puzzle toys that i have i still have a bunch of the old ones that i talked about in the rotation but these are all the new ones that i have added in the last year to our little collection and ones that i’ve been really enjoying and i wanted to share with you guys so like i said links to all of these things will be below in the description i hope that this gave you some new fun ideas of things to get for your dog at home and if you guys have any questions let me know in the comments below and i’ll see you guys in my next video …
