these are the top 25 woodworking tools of 2023 let’s go not only are some of these my favorite tools but they were also your favorite tools from this previous year based on the data that I have available there’s something for everybody on this list check this [Applause] out first up is the Craig Corner radius jig this has become one of my favorite tools to use with the router in the shop I find myself using it quite regularly now I purchased this myself earlier in the year and it just it works so well two things I love about this jig number one it has a handle so it keeps my hand away from that spinning bit I like that number two it has so many different radiuses and chamers that you can use to put on the edge of a board I’m able to do this on a variety of stuff that I’m making here in the shop and this thing is so handy and it’s not that expensive now later I will have an honorable mention that was in last year’s video but was sold out until recently next next up are the ey gauging bench squares now there’s a 3 and 1/2 in version and a 7in version you can buy them at a combo which TRD recommend or you can just pick up one if you’re just going to get one I would get the three and a half it’s probably the most useful in the wood shop these are very comparable to the woodpeckers brand in quality but at a much cheaper price and they have a whole bunch of features built right in up the back side of the square you got those holes that help you draw parallel lines or anything like that you’re going to need to I also like how they have a scale on this bottom piece of the square you can set it flat you you can measure bit Heights blade Heights Etc that’s a good handy feature these are just well-made stainless steel and aluminum squares that’ll last a very long time it’s one of my favorites that I’ve had in the shop this year next on the list is the Milwaukee M18 fuel track saw this has been one of my favorite track saws this borderlines Festival as far as how much I like it like they’re neck and neck I can’t decide which one I like more that’s why I have kept this Milwaukee one otherwise I would have already given it away I bought this in I think February or January of 23 and this has been an amazing saw it has a lot of good features on it some of the main things I’ve Loved about this saw is number one it has plenty of power to cut through most anything that you’re going to use most people are going to use these for like sheet goods and things but it’ll also cut through thicker Hardwoods perfectly Square everything is nicely built nothing is flexing and moving when it’s not supposed to the depth stop is absolutely amazing just a lot of great features built into this saw it’s very good dust collection as well and this has been one of my favorite purchases over the last year and I just keep grabbing this every time I need to use the tracks saww Milwaukee did a bang up job on this one and for the price it’s really not overly priced it’s very competitively priced for what you’re getting especially when you get the pack out the battery the saw and the track just it’s an allaround great tool if you’re in the market for a tracka I can’t recommend this one enough now if a track saw is not in your budget you have to check out the Milescraft circular saw guide it basically turns any circular saw into a track saww this was one of the most popular tools I’ve shown on the channel this year we sold them out we can have that effect again the outlaw effect get it but this is a great tool to turn any of your circular saws that you already have into a track saw especially for cutting sheet Goods if you’re want a bevel cut this isn’t the tool for you but if you’re making just straight cuts breaking down plywood MDF things like that this is a fantastic tool at a very good price around about $99 most of the time this is a steal if you’re just looking to break down sheet Goods accurately every time this has been one of the most popular products that I have shown on the channel in 2023 and this is an art bin as they call it hey where those get in there this for my safety glasses went this is a art supply box but I use it to store sandpaper in thanks to the recommendation of all Redwood Works who told me about this this is a great way to store five and 6in discs and keep them all organized and I know exactly how many I have at a glance or roughly how many I have at a glance I know when I’m getting low on the 120 or the 220 or whatever I need and it’ll also hold different things like my little sand Flex boxes sanding Mouse so it’s a great way to just keep those organized one thing to note on this box it sells for about $30 if it’s more than that don’t don’t buy it it’s a ripoff I have seen them raise the price on these to a crazy amount 30 bucks or under you’re good speaking of organization one of my main missions in 2022 was to get this shop organized and that included this Husky toolbox that I got from Home Depot however inside this toolbox you see one of the most popular products I showed this year and that are these little storage bins now these come in various sizes you get think like 32 of them different sizes in a pack you’re going to get the bigger size the smaller size medium size these are just perfect for keeping small parts organized in a drawer so you don’t lose anything or you can just keep it all from bouncing around the drawer and these are very inexpensive you can see I’ve got all kinds of tools and supplies all organized with these little boxes what’s perfect about these is I can see where everything’s at everything’s not just piled up on top of each other and it’s nicely organized so I can find it when I need it while we’re in that organization mindset one of my favorite things I’ve ever added to my shop are these Bora wood organizers and a lot of you got these this year because they’ve been on some really good deals I have two of them in the shop and you can see here they are stocked full they hold a bunch of weight just make sure you install them into a stud properly as the instructions state but I’ve got them loaded up with wood and I swear I keep my Hardwoods up out of my way out of the off the floor and they’re properly stored I was worried that they were going to cup or bend because of the two post that doesn’t happen and I’ve been using them for probably a year or more these are really really good storage racks for lumber I can’t recommend them enough next up the Bosch 1617 router has been a very popular router this year and I have it in my router table plus I did a full review breakdown of that versus the DeWalt the it’s such a great router for the price I love the plunge base on this router it I love the way it adjusts how everything worked everything about this router is very very nice now the fixed base I preferred on the DeWalt but as far as plunge base go power everything else you’re going to need in a router you’re getting this for usually under $200 for a fixed and a plunge base router with a half and a quinch collet this is one of those routers that will last you for years and years you can use that freehand you could use it with an edge guide you use at a router table just such a versatile tool to have to the shop and at one of the better prices for this power range of a router it’s just a solid pick next up zero clearance now this is tape literally fast cap zero clearance tape is what this is I’ve used this for years probably since 2017 2018 this was very popular I showed it in a video on mosa upgrades this year and a lot of you took advantage of this and love this what’s great about the zero clearance tape is it’s easy on and it comes off easily it’s not going to damage it’s nothing permanent and it makes you have better Cuts so you’re going to get a really clean cut it’s also going to prevent those small parts from falling down into the throat plate and getting jammed clogged up stuff like that and for the price I think you get five in the pack this is a really good product to upgrade your MIT saw it’s a very easy upgrade anybody can [Music] do speaking of upgrades one of my more popular videos was five table saw upgrades you should make and the gripper was one of those in my opinion this this is my favorite push block that I’ve ever purchased I purchased this not sponsored by anybody here this is great for getting those small rips thin rips and I love the fact that you can adjust that leg down everybody who’s been woodworking anytime at all seen the gripper and there’s a reason why it is so popular I don’t buy the knockoff brand grippers I showed one of those that I bought from tumu it’s not as good these are wellmade they’re going to last you for a very long time and it just makes using your table saw that much safer and easy that’s why this is my pick for one of the best push blocks you can buy next is the M18 fuel Milwaukee router this is the small compound router trim router this is the router that I grab most often I have other routers I have the flex router I have the Dewalt Router RI rigid I have a bunch of them but this one is the one I grab all the time because it just fits the hand better I like how it’s balanced it’s got plenty of power does everything I needed to do this is my favorite and this is the first time I’ve said this publicly this is my favorite trim router because of just how well it works the flex and the Walt just have a bigger area where you grab it at and over time when I’m doing a bunch of edge profiles and stuff my hand starts basically fatiguing because of it it’s just like trying to hold something you know like pming a basketball for a long time or something but this is just a good fit plenty of power plenty of battery life I love the battery life on this it just works extremely well I have full review of this after owning it for a year on my other Channel The Outlaw effect if you’re not subscribed and you love tools as much as I do you should really check out that channel this is my favorite favorite trim router that I bought today one of the best table saws I bought and tested in 2023 was this Dewalt compact jobsite table saw it does have the 8 and 1/4 inch blade this thing has a lot of power and the blade they send with this is actually really good and most of the the time that’s not the case with table saws even the saw stop table saw blade that come with it was trash this is a very good saw for the price if you need a full 10in saw I showed one last year on the channel which was a skill brand but this is my pick if you’re in a small space and you’re on a budget and you want a good saw that will last you for a very long time and is very accurate especially with this rack and pinion fence the adjustments it has on it like this is a very good corded saw so you don’t have to buy into another battery platform I love this little saw so much I can’t get rid of it I keep it around it’s just a good good saw to have now if you want to take this saw or any table saw really to the next level one of the most popular products I’ve shown recently is the bow extender fence I love this product this is one of the most genius Products that come out in 2023 it attaches to any table saw just clamps right to the fence even these job site Saws and what makes this thing so awesome is it gives you in feed and outfeed support and that’s where you need it most on these especially these small saws that have a small tabletop on them as you can see I was able to cut very long boards with this saw with the bow extender fence on there and it gives you that outfeed support that you need so much because you don’t want those falling off the back just unsafe and they just it damages your Lumber and all kinds of stuff with this fence you also get that ability for that vertical feather board there that keeps that board pressed down toward the table you can also put that bow feather board on the outside putting horizontal press pressure on there and you just get really really accurate Cuts with this system and for the price of what you’re getting it just makes the table saw that much better one of the products you love the most were Bessie pipe clamps I showed these in a video and you love them because you can really stock up on clamps they’re not overly expensive for what you’re getting and then you can add the pipe to it depending on what size the project is for cutting boards tabl tops literally anything you can get a pipe for long enough for this you can get pipe at your local home store or you can get them on Amazon with these clamps you know add them in the cart with them these are 36in clamps I find these to be about perfect for cutting boards and shuto Boards things like that and they work so well these are so inexpensive as far as clamps go they’re extremely wellmade Betsy brand and you can really stock up on clamps I think most Woodworkers should get these well before they get parallel clamps because of the cost benefit you’re getting with these versus how much parallel clamps really cost as silly as it is I get asked about this all the time and it’s one of the more popular products I’ve shown and it’s this pencil this is a graph gear 1000 by pentail I keep one in my pocket right there all the time I have a couple laying around on the workbench you can get them in different sizes but I like these because they fit in the holes of those squares that we talked about just for describing lines and things mechanical pencil I like the 0.9 LA because it doesn’t break as often but you can get the 7 if you want a finer detail yeah they cost a little more than a number two pencil but what I found is because I paid a little more for these I actually keep up with them and because I can keep it in that pocket I always got one on [Music] me and speaking of pockets the best work clothes that I’ve ever purchased and I have purchased multiple pairs of these now are the true work work pants I have them on in almost every video probably every video over the last year you can go back and look and tell me if I’m wrong I love these they have so many pockets they have a pocket for your phone this is a iPhone 15 Pro Max in a case goes right in there I keep it right there all day got a pencil pocket I mean who doesn’t want a pencil pocket you got cargo Pockets zipper Pockets back pockets and they are very very comfortable to wear they Flex well like these are very good pants this is a T2 line they’re a little bit thicker than the t1s the t1s are perfect for hot climates summertime that’s what I wear during the summer the t2 is what I wear during the mild winters of Arkansas they have them in a bunch of different colors and they just come out with these these have knee pads in them built in that you can take in and out so if you’re a roofer or if you work on flooring or anything where you have to be on your knees a lot you may want to get a pair of these to try out these are very comfortable and with the removable knee pads like knee Savers right there Brothers you got to get you got to check these out it even tells you which way goes up so you’re not going to be confused when you stick them back in there easy in Easy out for washing these are my favorite work pants I’ve ever purchased and I’ve purchased a bunch of them now shorts and [Music] pants one of the more popular products I showed was a knockoff dare I say of the Pini pocket roll now these three come in a set and they’re less than $30 if I remember right very inexpensive pocket rolls and these are pretty nice actually I did a whole video on the woodpeckers versus other tools that kind of line up with them or or very very similar to them and this three pocket rule set was one of the most popular ones that I showed I think they sold out pretty quickly they’re back in stock if you want to get a good set of pocket rules for the shop and you don’t want to break the bank this is a good option has that nice stop on there as well as just pretty well made they’re anodized aluminum they work pretty good I like them if you want the best of the best get the pinii love these one thing every woodw worker should have is a flush trim saw just the way it is I think it’s a rule somewhere probably rule 203 if I had a guess this is a flush trim saw this is a Japanese made by suan it’s one of my favorite makers of saws have a dovetail saw two dovetail saws and this one from them I like this one because it has a hardwood teeth on one side softwood on the other this is really great for cutting off dials small parts all kinds of stuff to have in the shop and they’re very inexpensive you should have one of these one of the greatest upgrades for the shop this year for me personally was this DeWalt with the bir shelix helical head this thing is butter smooth it cuts really nice uh planes boards down really nice very smooth finish when you’re done it is an expensive upgrade if you already have a dw735 or a lot of other planners actually you can purchase just the bird Sheik’s head to install in there there’s a quite a bit of difference in the three or straight knife version of your planers versus the bird shelix helical head version now basically what’s happening is the straight knives are chopping the wood when it cuts it where a shelix head because those knives are individual little square knives are turned at an angle you’re getting more of a shearing action and it just makes things much smoother if I had to guess just by feel it’s about a 220 grit feel versus when it comes out with a straight knife probably 120 grit maybe a little less but as far as upgrades go in the shop this was one of the best one of the best budget option tools that I purchased and reviewed on the channel this year was a skill router and router table combo usually around $2 200ish dollar give or take this is a very good router plus you get the router table especially if you do a lot of small parts boxes trays Etc this will be invaluable to you you’ll be using this all the time and it’s well built I really appreciate the way it was built now the fence isn’t the greatest on this as far as if you’re looking to Joint things with it I don’t think you’re going to be able to do that with this router table but if you just need a fence to set up stops Etc or just set up distance so that you can route rabbits and Doos Etc it’ll work perfectly fine it’s just an offset feature on say jointing things it just didn’t work that great but as far as the router and the router table the router has plenty of power for one and then the router table is well made I like the top on it everything Glide Glide glided glid it it slid on there real smooth now one of the more popular products I’ve had this for years actually and I don’t know if it was in last year’s video or not but the dfm small Carpenter Square made in the USA half the price of the woodpeckers Del Square this is a very good Square it’s one of the ones I use the most in the shop it’s 3 and2 in it’ll scribe across a two it’s just a wellmade and you can get a multiple colors so if you don’t like this color you can pick your own color there these have a lot of gold features built in too you still get those scribe holes so you can scribe lines it also has place where you can drop pins in to draw quick angles it’s just a really good Square that’s going to last you a [Music] lifetime next is inside this box one of the best cordless power tools I think I’ve ever bought the Milwaukee 5 in1 drill driver now this isn’t like the replacement for a drill but I did a video on this earlier in the year and it’s very convenient to have this in the shop especially if you’re doing cabinets drawers anything like that it really gets into those tight spaces so you can install screws or drill holes has an offset head a 90° head a drill and a driver head not an impact but it does have a driver it’s the M12 battery system and for the price you can usually get this for around $229 or less it’s just an allaround good system to have in the shop and one of my favorite little drills that I purchased this is a perfect around theous drill in my opinion now people ask me about the insert this is from Jonah Pope design it’s a 3D print file you can buy the actual insert already made on Etsy from other people but if you want to buy just the file Jonah Pope design just search that you’ll find it if you have a 3D printer one extremely popular item that I’ve shown on the channel this year is this four piece set from whide you’re getting four of the most commonly used router bit sets from one of the best router bit makers on the market in my opinion whide I love their bits I buy their bits I bought this set has a roundover bit a champer bit and then a flush trim bit with with a top bearing and one with a bottom bearing this is perfect especially for use with say that Craig template guide that I had if you cut templates or anything like that those flush trim bits are going to come in handy and then of course the roundover en Cher bits you’re going to use all the time these are high quality bits they going to last you a very long time you can’t beat this set before we get to the final product this is one of the better upgrades in the shop this year this is shapco 5 Pro CNC I had the 4 XXL before and this is a very nice upgrade has the ball screws it has the vfd spindle I’m able to batch out a whole bunch of stuff for the shop now cnc’s can bring in so much income if you’re in the market for CNC I can’t recommend the shapo 5 enough awesome customer service and just a allaround great machine for small garage shops such as mine last but certainly not least this is the Ryon 2in orbital sander now this I showed in last year’s video St and it sold out and it was sold out for months probably six or seven or eight months before it finally started coming back in stock they finally got them back in stock I’ll link to them in the description if you make small parts or boxes or trays or anything you need to get into tight areas to S this is a great little machine now it comes with a 12vt battery so yeah you’re going to get another battery platform but literally it’s one battery and the battery life on it lasts quite a long time pick up these little round disc on Amazon they’re Velcro or hook and loop back and this is just a great little tool I use this almost every week in the shop when I’m making these trays and things it helps me sand out the inside of those trays get those tool marks out of there it’s just a fantastic little machine now it’s not random orbital in other words it’s just spinning in a circle so long as you keep it moving you’re going to have a nice finish if you leave it sit and still it’ll take the material off like this is a powerful little sander for $100 like you can’t find one of these anywhere else for this price you can’t a lot of other pay places have very similar styles to this and they could be 5 6 700 bucks but for Ryon to come out with this one for 100 bucks it is a steel and yeah it was in the
