hi guys welcome to a video and in today’s video I’m just going to be reading you some poems from my new poetry book The Serpent so a little bit about this book I feel like whenever I talk about my poetry books I always say the same thing which is that I wasn’t actually planning on writing another poetry book I was actually trying to concentrate on writing a novel but this is something I’ve also said before I don’t actually sit there and try to write poetry the poetry just comes to me I find that certain situations thoughts and feelings will just assemble themselves as poetry inside of my head at 3:00 a.m. and they pretty much hang around and haunt me until I put pen to paper and that is how this book was born what I will say is this is the first time that I felt nervous to release my poetry into the world because some of these poems are very raw I still still feel very kind of split open with a lot of what is going on in this book so yeah there is a lot I could say about this book but I’ll let the Poetry speak for itself this poem is called the boa constrictor I picked up your scent by tasting the air a coldblooded creature I’m drawn to the heat designed to wrap myself self around your flesh and squeeze hold you there until you find it hard to breathe my scales pressed against your heart registering the beat but it’s not enough for me to consume a piece of you I want to digest you mind body and soul yes it’s not enough for me to take a piece of you I want to swallow you whole this poem is called a spring wedding in vaness is a long way from down south you wanted a spring wedding at a country house warmer weather suits the bride for the temperature drops when I arrive suddenly we’re trapped in a snow globe you and I never touch yet we still slow dance oh everything becomes hazy and that’s romance May to February Bloom to frost I look at you and time just stops the you said yes to someone else that unbearable echo of resounding vows makes me wish I knew how to put the pen down and walk away to stop the ink you th from Icy Veins seeping through my flesh and on to the page but hey this poem is called Rosa petals velvet under my touch I lean in allured by animalic notes of musk my lips graze in between rose hips before I press them into folds and crevices opening you up delicately your Thorns piercing my flesh as you bloom before me this poem is called Eden with my forked tongue against your rosy skin Serpentine words spill out the secrets of the garden a single Taste of the fruit Bears knowledge in the mind will you let me be the one to open your eyes all you need to do is take a bite and I’ll shape you into something Godlike I can show you reverence the likes of which you’ve never experienced it’s soft sweet and divine won’t you sink your teeth in and relish the freom from him and him yes part your lips I can give you a taste of Eden this poem is called an act of service it’s been a long day baby just lay back let everything go deep breath relax I know how you take pain remains for others you’ve been a saint for so long bathed in holy virtue you have a likeness to God but your flame is low from burning oil at night let my Earthly body restore the Divine Light just tell me the way you want me to practice my devotion and I’ll have your woes melting in motion baby I just want to make you feel seen so I’ll look up at you when you release all of your tensity between my lips your tightness uncoiling with my fervent worship I don’t want to take from you I don’t need to receive I just want to give to be on my knees so baby just lay back I’ll do all the work you don’t have to do a thing I’m here to serve this poem is called Eve haunted by your beauty like you’re holy your eyes rest on me like they know me the curves of your creation the fruit of Temptation frame my Shrine Thou shalt not touch Thou shalt not taste a woman who isn’t mine but Lord knows if I don’t I think I might die okay everyone I hope you enjoyed this video if you would like a copy of the serpent it’s currently available to pre-order over on my store Envy I will leave a link down in the description below and it’s currently available in both paperback and ebook formats versions one of the two two of the two and since this book is cursed a free curse comes with every purchase and that’s it until we meet again …
